Writing
I am passionate about life and write about the things that are most important to me. I enjoy reading as much as I do writing books and performing music. My list of favorite authors is quite long, but includes Albert Einstein, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, James Nordoff Hall, Alexander McCall-Smith, Frederick Douglass, Gerald Schroeder, Michio Kaku, Brian Greene, and Beth Moore.
I believe we are all called to fulfill noble purposes, to serve humanity, and to encourage one another in life. It was my privilege to meet with Congressman Silvestre Reyes and join with him and other military veterans in recognizing the accomplishments of some young ROTC students. Congressman Reyes graciously accepted a copy of Finding God in the Shadows.
Music
In addition to writing, I record sacred music. You can find my first CD, I Know the Lord's Laid His Hands on Me at www.amazon.com and of course, you can find My Soul Is A Witness included in the book by the same title as my gift to you.
I've been interviewed on a number of radio shows including, Mirrors of the Soul where you can hear a unique performance and discussion of African American Spirituals with Dr. Beth Erickson. If you are a fan of Gospel music, KTEP's The Best of Gospel features music from my CD's quite regularly. I have recently appeared on Erskine Overnight and Tom Berryman's show.
Career
Following my stint as a naval officer and educator, my career has focused on writing and music. Currently, in addition to my performance schedule, writing, and speaking, I am hard at work with Hansen-McMenamy Books, a newly established publishing house.
